Why am I getting locked out?

You can get locked out for several reasons:

  • You typed your password incorrectly too many times.
  • You have old passwords in your browser that affect your login session.
  • Someone with an AAU username similar to yours may have mistakenly typed your username instead of their own.
  • You have changed your password, but it is not updated on your phone.
  • You have set up AAU-Mail in Windows or Mac's own mail programme/calendar.
  • You have changed network (moved from AAU to home network) and the password has not been synchronised properly.
  • You have changed your password at home without being logged in to the VPN, and you keep entering the new password to log in to the computer, even though the computer remembers the old password (because it has not been on the AAU network), this can cause a lockout.
