I am leaving AAU as a student

As a student, you can read here how you should behave when you have taken your last exam and thus stop at AAU.

I stop at AAU, now what?

You will receive an email on your AAU account with further information and the date of closure, but you must be aware of:

  • You have access to your AAU email 90 days after the last assessment date
  • If you have a login to AAU job bank, remember to change your AAU email to your private email - Read here how to correct your email
  • You have access to various AAU buildings 90 days after the last assessment date.

Backup my stuff

Closing your AAU account means that you can no longer use:

  • Your AAU-Mail
  • M365 programs including Word, OneNote, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Data on OneDrive - Aalborg University
  • Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint at Aalborg University
  • Moodle
  • License-based software purchased by AAU

If you have used OneNote on your Windows or Mac computer, and you want to take your notes with you, you must be aware that you yourself are responsible for having it transferred.
If you have a Windows computer, you can export your OneNote to another OneNote.
If you have used a Mac, you only have the option of copying the whole thing over or downloading it as a pdf file. You can read more about it here.

It is your responsibility to contact business partners and inform them of a new email address, and it is your responsibility to get all relevant material downloaded and saved from Moodle and OneDrive – Aalborg University.

After a period, your AAU account will be physically deleted and you will no longer be able to access it and IT support will not be able to restore the deleted content.
