When does my account close as an employee at AAU?

When your employment at AAU ends, your account is closed on the same day that your employment ends.

 
Remember to set an auto-reply on your AAU-Mail to tell your business partners who else to contact when you are no longer there. You can read here how to set auto-reply to mail

Backup

Closing your AAU account means that you can no longer use:

  • Your AAU email
  • M365 programs including Word, OneNote, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Data on OneDrive - Aalborg University.
  • Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint at Aalborg University
  • Moodle
  • License-based software purchased by AAU
     

If you have used OneNote on your Windows or Mac computer, you can export your notes to a file, which can then be imported into another OneNote on another account - You can read more about how to do it here

It is your responsibility to contact your partner and inform them of a new email address, and it is your responsibility to download and save all relevant material from Moodle and OneDrive - Aalborg University, if applicable. download emails to a pst file - Read here how to do it

After a period, your AAU account will be physically deleted and you will no longer be able to access it and IT support will not be able to restore the deleted content.
