Here you can find instructions on how to set up VMware/workstation on your Mac. The guide is for both employees and students.

VMware 

VMware is a program that installs a virtual machine on your macOS. This means that you can run macOS and Windows 10/11 at the same time. IT support recommends that your Mac has at least 8GB of RAM, as macOS and Windows 10/11 must share the resources you have on your Mac. 

As an employee and student, you can download VMware Fusion 13 and Workstation for personal use by requesting it as described below.

    User Registration

    • Click on the link to sign up
      • Remember to create an account with your AAU-Mail
    • You will then receive a verification code sent to your AAU-Mail 
    • Enter the verification code
    • Click Contiune
    • Complete registration
    • Click Create Account
    • Click I'll do it later

    Download VMware Fusion/Workstation

    • Click Login on the broadcom.com website
    • Next to your name, in the dropdown box, select VMware Cloud Foundation
    • Select My downloads on the left side
    • Locate and click on VMware Fusion or VMware Workstation
    • Select VMware Fusion 13 Pro for Personal Use or VMware Workstation Pro for Personal Use
    • Choose the newest one 
    • Tick ​​I agree to Terms and Conditionss
    • Click on the download icon
    • Prior to downloading this file, additional verification is required. Processed? - Click Yes
    • Tick ​​Agree and click Submit
      • You may need to fill in extra information such as address (choose the University address), you must fill in this to proceed. 
    • Click on the download icon

    NOTE: When you install the program, remember to select Personale use during activation and not a license code.
